“A business with no sign, is a sign of no business” so goes a saying, which is often used by billboards maker. The same could also be applied for businesses’ websites, especially those that do not advertise their business.

A website needs to advertise in order to get on top of search engine results. They need to find online local advertising channels to be able to get their target market, and make their business viable, and their website sustainable.

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has postponed the opening of classes in colleges and universities to June 15.

The suspension of classes was announced by CHED Chairman Emmanuel Angeles, citing the threat of A(H1N1) as the main reason.

Angeles said that there are many foreign students and students who came from countries that are exposed to swine flu, the one-week period will give enough time for self-quarantine for students who came from abroad.

It could be recalled that De La Salle University earlier suspended classes after its students were tested positive for A (H1N1). Some universities have also postponed classes prior to the CHED announcement.

The inclement weather these past few days was also cited by Angeles as the second reason for the postponement.

Text from Inquirer.net Breaking News on CHED decision:

Classes in public and private colleges and universities throughout the country will start on June 15 and not June 8 as originally scheduled.

Dr. Emmanuel Angeles, chair of the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd), announced the postponement on Saturday, saying the delay will give time for students who traveled abroad to do self-quarantine against the Influenza A (H1N1) virus

I hope this answers the questions of some readers if their province is included in the announcement.

As for the elementary and high school, let’s hope that the DepEd will also come out with a decision until tomorrow, because these younger students are in fact more vulnerable to the disease.

Last Saturday, after attending iBlog5, my friend Zorlone was kind enough to drop me off in Monumento so I can conveniently ride the bus at the Victory Liner terminal.

As I went towards the cashier to get my ticket, I noticed a sign on the cashier’s window which says something like “paying for insurance is voluntary” and I remembered that Victory Liner charge their passengers for insurance when you pay for your fare at the terminal.

Since I haven’t been travelling for quite a long time, I asked the cashier how much is the fare up to Dau, where I would get off (the bus I’m riding will be going to Dagupan), to which she answered P122.00, so I gave her P125.

She gave me my P3 change and two tickets… wait! Two tickets?!

I could have been P100,000 richer, that is what I was told by the text message I recieved from Globe. The message said I could be the winner of the P100,000 prize for the week, but I still need to text their number - 2346

Now, anyone who knows Globe’s scheming ways knows that once you texted 2346, you will activate a subscription from anything that they are offering, and from then on you’ll be receiving text alerts wherein you will be charged P2.50 each!

Still dreaming on having your own self-hosted domain? Are you still clueless when it comes to choosing your web hosting provider? With lots of companies offering web hosting services, it not that easy to decide which is really the best one… or at least the one that is best suited for your purpose.

That decision could be made easier though when you check upon the Web Hosting Geeks. They do independent reviews of the different web hosting service providers, and they rank them based on different categories that you might want to take note of.

Realtors can be a pain in the neck, if not an outright nuisance. I should know, I used to be one. No, I don’t mean I used to be a pain in the neck, I meant I used to be a Realtor myself, albeit an unlicensed one (broker). I quit because I can’t stand the competition’s tactics.

Anyway, E-Executives Realty, one of the most trusted Austin Realtors isn’t one of those kind. For one, they’re a corporation and they have an image and reputation to protect. And they have been in the industry for a long time, with a long list of satisfied clients on their list.

This couldn’t come at a more appropriate time, an increased in benefits of PhiliHealth members. Come April 5, 2009, members will enjoy a 35% increased in benefits, in almost all possible benefits a member can avail of.

Although, reading from the PIA website, the motivation for 35% increase for members is President Arroyo’s birthday (sounds political, if you ask me). Anyway, for whatever reason as long as we, members, get to avail of these benefits without hassle and prejudice.
