Everytime the school conducts an activity outside their premises, they would send a Parental Consent Slip. This is done to inform the parents of the authenticity of the activity and to seek their permission for their children to join the activity.
Last night, my son presented the said slip to me for signature. They are going to have a Team Building activity on Sunday, and it will be help outside the school. I read the letter, and just as I suspected - the consent comes with a waiver. Signing the consent would mean that I would allow my son to join the activity AND at the same time waiving my rights to hold the school responsible for any untoward incident that might happen during the activity.

Of all the utilities provider here in Angeles City, the water district I believe has the most inefficient billing system. And this is not based from hearsay, but from my own experience. Ironically, they are the only one who penalizes members for late payment.
In my previous business location, it’s very rare that I receive my water bill. If ever I’ll receive it, it’s going to be late… as in two to three months late. They promised to provide for your child’s college education need then just fold up without considering those whose future they destroyed. Or was it really a scam that took so many years in the making?!

This afternoon, I got a call from Jollibee. It was regarding the customer complaint I sent their head office. I was surprised since this happened two months ago, and I haven’t received any feedback after that.
As I have written on my blog post regarding that incident, I got an acknowledgement email from their head office and a call from a certain Jenny from the store’s branch. Both seeking apology and saying that this matter would be looked upon. That’s it. After which, I haven’t heard from them again… until now.

Last Sunday’s topic of Mr. Francis Kong on his weekly column at Philippine Star was about Leadership. And it talks of what makes a great leader and what makes a mediocre one (which I believe shouldn’t even be called a leader).
Reading this article gave me a different perspective on why we should only hire people who are bigger and more knowledgeable than us. The Russian doll gave me a clear view of how we let our organization ‘shrink‘ or ‘grow smaller’ if we let insecurity and fear of competition gets in the way.
So without further delays, I give Francis Kong on Leadership
