I really don’t know how stupid CAP is… or was it us who were stupid enough to believe them before? Of course which parent does not their children to be assured of going to college? Even the high rising cost of education and most commodities, by getting an college assurance plan, I can have confidence that my son won’t have any problem as far as his college tuition fee is concern. That is what is written in the contract - A BINDING CONTRACT!
Now that my son is already in college - prelims, mid-terms and two promissory notes later, still I didn’t get anything from this future-grabbing monster! And now, finals will be here anytime soon, yet not a flicker of hope shining that I would get anything. In fact, when I called, I was even told that processing of claims will take years!
And where is the government through all of these? All those programs - inviting tourist investors (to take advantage of local resources), employment opportunities (thanks to this opportunist investors), and double-funding of projects, they remained silent and distant from this CAP brouhaha…
If it were election time, maybe something would happen. But then again, it’s not.
CAP stole my son’s future, while politicians are destroying his present.

I failed with BDO but I was fortunate to get my money credited back by them, yet still up to now my PayPal is not yet verified. Sure, I can still receive payment in my account, but I can’t withdraw them yet until I have a bank credit card or debit card which is accepted by PayPal.
Today I applied for an EON Card by Union Bank, I was told that this one is accepted by PayPal. Before I applied, I asked the New Accounts clerk first if EON Card is indeed accepted by PayPal and he confirmed it, adding that it is the one being used by their client in their PayPal transactions. He is just not aware of the procedures in applying EON to PayPal.
So I immediately filled up an application to get my EON Card. The fee for the card P350.00, and there is no maintaining balance. However, the card requires at least two weeks to be processed and approved. So I still have to wait for the confirmation letter to arrive at our house, it is only then that I will know if my EON Card application is approved or not. If approved, I can go back to the branch to get my card. The P350.00 fee will only be paid once the account is approved.
A good enough procedure I must say. Two weeks will pass anyway, whether I have an approval to wait or not. Now, at least I have a chance to get my PayPal approved even if I do not have credit card.
For those who are not yet aware of what a PayPal, you can check my post -What is PayPal?

I am very much tempted to write a post-SONA article (because I’m sure it will definitely help my search ranking ), but I want to write something positive and thus SONA might not be a good subject. And so I searched for another topic wherein I could be writing something positive.
Then I remembered, I’ve been meaning to write about the experience I had with BDO just a month ago. And this was with their Angeles-Nepo Branch where I have opened my account. I opened an account with BDO because I have applied for a Paypal account and some friends told me that a BDO account is accepted with Paypal.

Everytime the school conducts an activity outside their premises, they would send a Parental Consent Slip. This is done to inform the parents of the authenticity of the activity and to seek their permission for their children to join the activity.
Last night, my son presented the said slip to me for signature. They are going to have a Team Building activity on Sunday, and it will be help outside the school. I read the letter, and just as I suspected - the consent comes with a waiver. Signing the consent would mean that I would allow my son to join the activity AND at the same time waiving my rights to hold the school responsible for any untoward incident that might happen during the activity.
