When I was still with a bank, one of the policies that I frowned about is the non-acceptance of an expired ID card. I find it rather absurd and outright ridiculous that I can’t accommodate check encashments nor new accounts opening because ID’s presented to me by clients were expired.

Oftentimes, I find myself too at the other end of the deal. The more it looks annoying to me. Imagined being refused accommodation because of an expired ID! Not only it is embarrassing to be denied, but such rule is definitely and absolutely insane!

I would like to post and promote as well, the other blogs that I am currently maintaining right now. And while their links may already be in the sidebars, herewith are some brief descriptions of what they are and why they are.

Here goes:

REFLECTIONS
poems… essays… emotions… reflections

My very first blog. Used to be that I will post everything here… my pains, my views, feelings, news, poems… everything! Until I realized that everything shouldn’t be here. Which began the creation of a series of other blogs. To contain other items that should not be here. This blog is personal.

Now it contains essays and poems, as well as views and latest happenings in my life.

Be Inspired Now!
as I seek for inspiration… I also seek to be one…

A blog where I can share my poems… my stories… wherein I could hope to inspire others. Here is where I will also share some stories that I got from the net and other people… and somehow were also able to make some difference in my life.

And as my invitation for this blog goes….

Let us all be inspired!

Last Sunday’s topic of Mr. Francis Kong on his weekly column at Philippine Star was about Leadership. And it talks of what makes a great leader and what makes a mediocre one (which I believe shouldn’t even be called a leader).

Reading this article gave me a different perspective on why we should only hire people who are bigger and more knowledgeable than us. The Russian doll gave me a clear view of how we let our organization ‘shrink‘ or ‘grow smaller’ if we let insecurity and fear of competition gets in the way.

So without further delays, I give Francis Kong on Leadership

I never thought I could have some complain… after all I was satisfied with the service so far. Save for the long waiting time (even in a very short line), their customer relations is commendable. Until one time I deposited a check intended for another branch’s account.

It used to be that I deposit cash when I have to pay suppliers with BDO account in other branches. And because I’m depositing cash I pay for service charge since this is an interbranch deposit. Being a former banker, I can understand that. Cash carried by the branches in their vaults carries costs for insurance, hence additional cash could cost additional insurance.

Here again is repost of Mr. Francis Kong’s article on the Sunday Business of Philippine Star. An article on backstabbing and how to handle it.

Remember Walt Frazier
BUSINESS MATTERS (Beyond the bottom line) By Francis J. Kong
Sunday, June 1, 2008

There are people in the work place whose favorite part of the human anatomy is the back. These are the people who love to back-stab and back-bite and they feel that the only way they can add value to themselves is to devalue others. They are in the work place, they are in organizations and they are also found in churches too.

What do you do when you are a victim of injustice?

What do you do when you are on the receiving end of a smear campaign? Ask me. I’ve got stories to tell. I am not speaking theory here but I am speaking based on actual experiences. These experiences are not exactly ecstatic for me but I sure am learning a lot from it.

I guess it’s time to promote my site now…

Since I have been blogging about companies… giving them exposure in my blogs for free, I think it’s high time that I promote mine.

The House is now open for advertisements… banners, links, widgets and what-have-you.

I can also do some write up for you and post on my blog for maximum and long-lasting exposure! Cause it will be here as long as my blog exists! And always be indexed by Google and Yahoo search!

It really annoys me everytime I pay at the cashier of SM Department Store, cause she would always ask, “Sir, do you have an Advantage card?” to which I would always say “No!”. Her automatic follow-up then “Sir, would you like to have one?” Again - “No!” that should end it right? But no, it doesn’t“Sir, you have substantial purchases, the points would all go to waste and…” “NO!” “but sir, the points would be credited to you immediately…” again “NO!” It’s irritating! Too much hardsell! Don’t they know the meaning of the word NO?!
